Uncertainty has continued to cloud the political future of former President Goodluck Jonathan as speculations mount over the platform he may adopt should he decide to return to the presidential race in 2027.

According to sources within his camp, the delay in any official declaration is tied to ongoing consultations on whether Jonathan would run under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-where he is a founding member-or the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party said to have strong ties with some of his loyalists.

While Jonathan has yet to make his intentions public, insiders reveal that the former president's dilemma is compounded by sharp divisions among his allies. Some remain committed to the PDP despite its internal wrangling, while others believe the ADC, recently restructured, offers a cleaner slate for his comeback bid.

A source within the PDP told All Facts Newspaper that Jonathan's hesitation is not unconnected to the presence of power brokers like the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, whose influence continues to dominate the party's direction. On the other hand, figures such as Dumebi Kachikwu, the ADC's 2023 presidential candidate, are believed to be courting Jonathan's camp, fueling speculations of a possible move.
