ABIA STATE: Husband, Wife murdered before their kids in Umuahia

The wave of crime is currently on the increase in Umuahia capital city of Abia state despite the recent killing of a dangerous armed robber called grave.

News of robbery incidents have become a daily occurrence in Umuahia, from car snatching, to shop robbery , burglary , kidnapping and other types of crime.
But the recent killing of Darlington Ezenwa and wife before their kids along BCA road in Umuahia is shocking with residents getting scared.

AFNews gathered that late Darlington and wife were egg merchants, they drive around in Umuahia town supplying eggs to shops and customers. Yesterday as they were returning from their daily business, they were blocked by armed robbers and robbed.
Based on what we gathered, after the robbery the armed robbers allowed the family to go, only to return back, blocked their car and shot the Darlington and wife.

The killing has sparked up protest by residents in World Bank Housing Estate in Umuahia, they said Darlington Ezenwa who hails from Ebonyi State but resides in Umuahia is their neighbor and the leader of the area.

They complained of consistent robbery attacks in World bank Housing estate and even revealed that about 4 robbery incidents took place in that estate as at yesterday night.
While speaking with one of the protesters, he explained that robbery attacks is an everyday occurrence in world bank housing estate and that the lack of a full police station is worsening the matter.

He called on the Abia State Commissioner of Police to of a matter of urgency bring back the Police Station which was formerly stationed in world bank housing estate.

When police authority in Umuahia was contacted, AFNews gathered that three of the robbers involved in the killing of Darlington Ezenwa have been arrested.
