APC Fixes Date For Anambra Governorship Primary | SEE DATE

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed June 26 for the conduct of its governorship primary election in Anambra State.

In a statement on Thursday, APC Director of Organisation, Al-Mustapha Medaner, said the governorship expression of interest form cost N2.5 million while the nomination form is N20 million.

According to the statement, Medaner said female and physically challenged aspirants will only pay 50 percent of the prescribed fees for the position.

Medaner said the exercise will be done in accordance with the provisions of the 2010 Electoral Act as amended and the INEC guidelines.

He said the APC will start the sale of the forms at the party's national secretariat from April 15 to June 8.
The APC chieftain said the last day for submission of the completed forms and accompanying documents is June 8, while the screening of aspirants will be on June 10.

According to him, the publication of claims and objections will be on June 12, adding that screening appeals will be on June 15, while election appeals will take place on June 30.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed November 6, 2021, for the governorship poll in Anambra.
