Veteran politician and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George, has exploded in outrage following the sudden disruption and stoppage of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier scheduled to hold in Abuja today.

In a scathing interview with journalists, the former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP described the development as a "madnessÔÇØ that signals a dangerous drift toward authoritarianism, warning that such actions are reminiscent of North Korea or Russia.

"What is this madness? Are we turning Nigeria into North Korea or Russia?ÔÇØ George thundered. "You came to our own party office surrounded by police just because we want to hold a family meeting?ÔÇØ

Chief George, known for his bluntness and rich political experience across both military and civilian governments, ridiculed the justification given by police operatives that they were acting on "orders from above."

"We've heard this 'orders from above' story before. It's the voice of Jacob but the hand of Esau,ÔÇØ he said metaphorically, implying that unseen political hands are trying to sabotage internal democracy within the PDP.

"PDP Is Not a Private Enterprise!ÔÇØ

Visibly irritated, Bode George emphasized that PDP is not a private business, but a national political institution that must be allowed to resolve its internal disagreements democratically.

"You can't lock up the landlord and expect to kill the Iroko tree of Nigeria's democracy. PDP is not a one-man show. If there is a domestic disagreement, we resolve it within-not with the police, and certainly not in the marketplace!ÔÇØ

Taking a swipe at the ruling APC and its alleged role in the chaos, Bode George called on the powers that be to concentrate on fixing Nigeria's economic, infrastructural, and educational crises, rather than meddling in PDP's affairs.

"Instead of blocking a party office, why not fix our dying economy? We have worse problems-dollar, unemployment, education, inflation. Face that!ÔÇØ
