Breaking: INEC Resumes Voter Registration By 2021

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will resume the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ahead of the 2023 general elections in the first quarter of 2021.

This was confirmed on Wednesday by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu during the budget defence of the commission before the Senate Committee on INEC.

AFNews understands the sum of N1billion has been earmarked by INEC for the exercise.

Yakubu also disclosed that INEC can work on diaspora voting, urging the National Assembly to amend the Electoral Act to accommodate such possibilities.
