Clark, in a letter read during a press briefing at his Asokoro residence on Thursday, accused Wike of making inflammatory remarks that threaten to "set fire" to states governed by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The remarks were made at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt during the party's state congress.

Wike, speaking at the congress, had warned PDP governors to keep away from the party's affairs in Rivers State, stating: "Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of the PDP from us... I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don't want peace-anything you see, you take."

Clark condemned Wike's comments as a severe provocation, disrespecting President Bola Tinubu, who appointed him as FCT Minister, and described them as "a form of treason capable of inciting violence."

Highlighting that similar statements have led to the arrest of other political figures, including Omoyele Sowore and #EndBadGovernance protesters, Clark insisted the IGP must arrest Wike immediately. "The Inspector General of Police must act now to arrest Nyesom Wike for his reckless and incendiary threats. These statements are a threat to national stability and must be retracted," Clark asserted.
