Delta 2023: Ijaw Group Endorses Kenneth Gbagi

The gubernatorial ambition of the Delta born industrialist and business mogul Olorogun Barr.Kenneth Gbagi received a big boost as an Ijaw group "Kiagbodo Pressure Group " from Brutu LGA of the state yesterday Wednesday 13,May 2021 endorsed his 2023 gubernatorial ambition. The group which paid the Delta business man cum politician a visit at his country home in Oginibo in Ughelli-North LGA of Delta state said that are on a solidarity visit as well to declare their total support for the businessman.

Speaking on behalf of the group that consist more of women and youth,Comrade Tari Stephen said"we have seen and heard of the things you have done both as a private and public citizens, the several companies and plazas you have established in the State that has lifted many out of poverty by providing employment for them, if you could do this as a private citizen ,we believe you will do much more if you become a governor, hence we resolve to support you sir,he said " .

Also collaborating what the group spokesman said,the woman leader ,who is also the former PDP Ward 8 women leader in Brutu LGA of Delta State, said the ljaw pressure group came to assure Chief Gbagi that ljaw people are in full support of his gubernatorial aspiration."We are solid behind chief as Ijaw people ,we are convinced that there is no better candidate to lead our dear state in 2023 after Gov Okowa than Chief Gbagi.As a business man we have seen so many things he has done and achieved for himself and our state,he is not hungry ,if becomes governor he will not eat our money,he will rather use it to work for us and develop our state,this is why we as Ijaw people from Kiagbodo,in Brutu Local government, we have agreed that ,come 2023 is Gbagi or nobody",she stated.

While addressing the group who were on a solidarity visit at his residence, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi said is overwhelmed with joy to see such a mammoth crowd from the Ijaw ethnic nationality coming to identify with him and support his ambition. The PDP chieftain identified himself as a detribalized Deltan who deals with people according to what they can do and not were they have come from.He recalled his relationship with the people of the Ijaw ethnic nationality.Chief Gbagi for instance, stated how he was persuaded by the Ijaw leader who he ascribed as his mentor Pa E.K Clarke to accept a ministerial appointment from the Goodluck Jonathan led government, after turning that three previous ministerial appointment. He said Pa Clarke ensured he accepted the ministerial appointment .

The frontline PDP gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 Delta Poll while responding to questions from journalist on how he plans to achieve achieve the proposed 100 industries in his first 100 days in office." Asserted that "The incumbent governor my elder brother Governor Okowa has laid the foundation ,a plane cannot take off without a good run way,in Delta State that's what the governor has done ,he has laid the foundation ,and with what he has done ,when I take over as a governor,I will even surpass the 100 industries in my first 100 days in office".

He thanked the people of Ijaw ethnic nationality .The memories of today's event is one that we stay with me for life,I cherish every moment of this visit,the sound of the music that has been blaring in my compound reminds me of relationship with your ljaw kinsmen ,some of whom are still alive and can attest of how ,I have assisted them one way or the other,.This my house ,when I emerge as governor, I will always come back here, you came to visit me in my house,challenge other aspirants to take you to their houses.A man does not take a fight to his house,when I emerge as governor, if you see me returning to this house,remind me that you stood with me from the beginning.

Am grateful for your prayers,you are the reason am contesting as governor, the downtrodden, not the upper echelon of society,my mission is to uplift you from poverty through my program and policies when elected as governor, he said.
