Failure of Adeleke to help Melaye win in Kogi serves as a lesson for 2026 - APC Issues Warning
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the defeat of Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Kogi State gubernatorial election, as a lesson for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

In a statement signed by the state APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, the party said that Adeleke's failure to deliver victory for the PDP in Kogi, despite serving as the campaign chairman, is a sign that he is politically empty and incapable of winning elections.

Lawal also said that Adeleke's defeat in Kogi is a wake-up call for the people of Osun State, who should be prepared to vote him out of office in the 2026 governorship election.

"The Kogi State gubernatorial election results should serve as a metaphorical mirror for Adeleke, reflecting his political emptiness,ÔÇØ Lawal said. "With Melaye's defeat, the outcome in Kogi State this year might mirror the scenario in Osun State's 2026 governorship election.ÔÇØ

Lawal accused Adeleke of relying on luck and political tactics to manipulate the will of the electorate in his victory in the Osun State governorship election. He also said that Adeleke's victory came at a high cost, with over 30 innocent APC members losing their lives due to PDP-related violence.

"Currently, there is no escape for you, Adeleke, and your allies,ÔÇØ Lawal said. "My party, the APC, will use all constitutional means to dislodge you from office in the 2026 governorship elections.ÔÇØ

Lawal also urged Adeleke to distribute the Federal Government's N9 billion fuel subsidy removal palliative to the people of Osun State immediately, warning that he will face resistance from the conscious members of society if he delays the distribution until the first anniversary of his administration in a few days.

He added that in 2026, voters will use their cards to vote Adeleke out.
