Fubara's Letter to Rivers Assembly on Budget Presentation Emerges [PHOTO]
A letter sent by Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to the House of Assembly before his visit has surfaced.

ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER reports that Fubara was on Wednesday denied access to the Assembly quarters, where lawmakers currently hold plenary sessions.

Fubara had arrived at the Assembly complex to present the 2025 budget, but was locked out, preventing him from accessing the premises.

In the letter, Fubara stated his commitment to implementing the Supreme Court's verdict on the state's political crisis. Dated March 11, 2025, and addressed to Speaker Martins Chike Amaewhule, the document referenced Fubara's statewide broadcast on March 2, 2025, where he reaffirmed his commitment to the court's verdict.

The budget presentation was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, following a recent Supreme Court ruling that ordered the suspension of federal allocations to Rivers State until the budget is properly presented and approved.

Speaking to journalists outside the premises, Fubara said his attempt to present the budget was in the best interest of the people of Rivers State. He added that he had previously written to the Speaker and spoken to him over the phone before deciding to appear before the Assembly in person.

The letter said: "It was in furtherance of this commitment that we initiated the consultative meeting with the Rivers State House of Assembly for the 10th of March 2025 to consider all the issues raised by the judgement and agree on the way forward in the best interest of our state.

"However, this crucial meeting was never held, which was unfortunate. Nevertheless, we have decided to move on to swiftly implement the terms of the judgement as promised having now been served with the certified true copy.

"Consequently, we wish to notify Mr. Speaker of our desire and intention to present the 2025 Rivers State Appropriation Bill to the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday 12th March 2015 by 10amÔÇØ.
