Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State will swear in the newly elected local government chairmen today at 4:00 pm at the Government House, Port Harcourt. The APP secured victories in 22 out of 23 LGAs.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State is set to swear in the newly elected local government chairmen today, Sunday, October 6, 2024. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt at 4:00 pm.

This announcement was made in an official statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo. According to the statement, all newly elected chairmen, along with one guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 pm for the ceremony.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) had earlier declared the results of the local government elections, with the Action Peoples Party (APP) winning in 22 of the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
