"How Many Former PDP Governors Can Walk On The Street Without Being Stoned?" Oshiomhole Asks

The former National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said that no ex-governor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can walk freely on the streets without being stoned.

Oshiomhole said this while speaking as a guest on Channels TV's Politics Today.

Oshiomhole said he walked freely on the streets of Benin, capital of Edo, without receiving the wrath of the people, having governed the state from 2008 to 2016.

Oshiomhole moved to dare other ex-PDP governors to do the same in their respective states.

"If you play back PDP mega rally, their flag off and see the reaction on when their new member entered. People are like - hired as they were, who is this?

"Now look at when I entered the University of Benin stadium. Look at the reaction of the ordinary people. You must have watched or I will show you the video. When I walked down the streets of Benin. How many of PDP former governors, whether in this state or in any other state, can walk freely without people stoning them?" Oshiomhole said.

Recall that the ex-chairman threw his support behind Godwin Obaseki, who succeeded him as governor in November 2016. However, both men fell out.

Obaseki defected to the PDP to seek re-election after he was disqualified from the APC.

Obaseki's main opponent in Saturday's election is Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu whom he defeated in 2016.

With just 24 hours to the guber polls, combined security operatives on Thursday in Benin embarked on another "Operation Show of Force'' to signify their preparedness to provide adequate security for the Saturday governorship election.

The operatives from the various security agencies in no fewer than 70 patrol vehicles participated in the exercise.

Convoys of the troops moved from the Police Command Headquarters in Benin at Sapele road, Country home-road through Ugbo road, GRA, Adesuwa road, Ihama road and the entire stretch of the Airport road.
