How Tinubu Caused My Problem With Obasanjo In 2003 - Orji Uzor Kalu

The Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has recounted how he became enemies with former President Olusegun Obasanjo after helping Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

According to Kalu, part of his problems with Obasanjo traces back to 2003 when Tinubu was seeking to be re-elected as the governor of Lagos state.

He said he intervened when he saw that Tinubu was lagging behind in his ambition to win the election.

Recall that Kalu and Tinubu, both chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have interest in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

Kalu while speaking on Siverbird TV on Friday, January 21, said though he and Tinubu might have different ideas of politics, they remain families and cannot quarrel because of politics.

"So we are like a family and politics cannot separate us. In 2003 when Tinubu was seeking re-election and I saw that he was lagging behind, I assisted him and it's part of what caused my problem with former President Obasanjo.

"So we're a family and we cannot quarrel because of politics. He might have his idea on how to do it and I might have my own idea on how to do it.

"But all I know is that if we meet at Eagle Square, I will give a very good account of myself" the Chieftain said.
