I Am Still in PDP, Nobody Can Sack Me - Wike Declares

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that no one within the party has the authority or moral standing to expel him.

Speaking during a media chat with journalists in Abuja on Monday, the former Governor of Rivers State dismissed speculations about his exit from the PDP, describing such claims as baseless.

Wike, who has been at the center of political controversies and alignment shifts in recent years, proudly defended his loyalty and contributions to the party, asserting that his role in building and sustaining the PDP is unmatched.

"I am still in PDP. I worked hard for the party. I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, 'Wike, you are not a member of the party.' Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than me?ÔÇØ he asked rhetorically.

The minister's comments come amid ongoing internal tensions within the PDP, following his perceived closeness to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), including his appointment by President Bola Tinubu as FCT Minister.

Wike's declaration appears aimed at silencing critics and party members who have called for disciplinary action against him, and at reaffirming his influence within the PDP's power structure.
