Admiral Usman Jibrin (retired), the gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party in Kogi, has called for the cancellation of the recent gubernatorial election in the state.

The call comes in response to the exclusion of the Accord Party's name from the ballot paper, which Jibrin described as a surprising turn of events and a violation of democratic rights.

Speaking at a press conference in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area (LGA) of the state on Sunday, Jibrin expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation.

He emphasized that the omission of the Accord Party's name from the ballot paper raises concerns about the fairness and transparency of the electoral process.

Jibrin strongly criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its decision, stating, "We are deeply disappointed by the decision of INEC to exclude the Accord from the ballot paper.

ÔÇØThis not only undermines the democratic process but also denies the people of Kogi state the opportunity to make an informed choice.ÔÇØ

Highlighting the significance of the matter, he declared, "We are left with no option but to call for the cancellation of the election and explore legal avenues to address this injustice.ÔÇØ

Jibrin pointed out that INEC has yet to release an official statement, urging the electoral body to address the issue promptly.
