Mohbad's Ally, Spending Speaks On Fathering Singer's Son, Liam

A close friend of the late Nigerian singer, Mohbad, known as Spending, has denied rumours of being the biological father of Liam.
Naija News reports that there have been speculations online about the resemblance between Mohbad's son, Liam, and Spending, with many netizens highlighting a striking similarity between the two, sparking heated debates and scrutiny over the child's paternity.

However, in a statement shared on his Instagram story on Monday, July 14, 2025, Spending firmly dismissed the allegations, calling for an end to the baseless claims.

He emphasised that he never had any affectionate relationship with Liam's mother, Wunmi, expressing frustration over the spread of false narratives and urging bloggers to stop fueling the rumours.
Spending also offered to undergo a DNA test if necessary, demonstrating his willingness to provide proof of his claims.
He wrote, "I've been seeing several bloggers insinuating I'm Liam's father. This is not a joke for real!! To set the record straight, I'm not his father and I never had any affectionate relationship with his mother. Y'all need to stop spreading these false narratives.ÔÇØ

Meanwhile, Mohbad's father, Joseph Aloba, has opened up about the series of disturbing events surrounding his son's death, revealing his growing suspicions and alleged attempts to keep him in the dark.

In a recent interaction with popular social commentator, Vincent Otse Martins (VeryDarkMan), Aloba narrated how he was first informed of his son's health crisis, only to be faced with a sudden and suspicious turn of events upon his arrival.

Aloba said he received a call from Mohbad's mother around 4:30 p.m. on September 12, informing him that the singer was sick and had been taken to the hospital. According to him, he immediately agreed to meet her so they could head to the hospital together.

"On the 12th of September, Iya Mohbad called me around 4:30 p.m. to tell me that my son is not well and is being hospitalised.

"I told her I was at a bus stop and she should come meet me so we could go together,ÔÇØ Mohbad's father recounted.

He explained that when they arrived at Osapa London, they were informed by Mohbad's uncle, Darosha, that the singer was recovering and there was no need for further concern.
