The US based economist who hails from Amaba in Isuikwuato LGA, stated this during a massive rally in Umuahia town which culminated into a campaign flag off and formal unveiling.

While speaking during the event, OAU as he is popularly called assured his supporters that his government will create prosperity for the state, secure the people, create jobs for graduates, open more opportunities for artisans and invest in Education, Agriculture, Health Care and many more interest areas.

He revealed that his government will be about the people and that the people will call shots.

"Our government will practice full democracy, it will be government of the people, by the people and for the people. It will never be a government of a few cabal. My job will be to listen to the people and work to make them happy"

Interacting with some journalist on the sideline, Onyekwere Akym Uche deposited that he loves Abia State and that was why he left his comfort zone to return home and see how to bring about the New Abia State.

"I love Abia so much that when everyone is saying i will not return to Nigeria at large because of the mess, i told myself that i will not sit on the fence and watch Abia State go down without contributing my effort towards developing Abia State, towards bringing the new Abia where people will be secured, where the youths will get jobs after they leave school"

He went further to reveal that he was one of the youths on the street, before God made a way for him to travel to America where capacity is the key and not who you know.

"I want to bring back home all my experience that i have gathered around the world to Abia State, to make Abia great again, to make Abians proud to say they are from Abia State. Making Abia State great is my number one project"

"My team and i have the blue print that will be used to turn around the fortunes of Abia State if given the opportunity".

On the issue of being popular in Abia State, he revealed that if Peter Obi story can be changed in Nigeria that today he has become the most popular presidential candidate, then he is sure that God can still do the same thing with him in Abia State.

"The Lord is on our side and by May 29, 2023, i will be the next governor of Abia State by the special grace of God"

Onyekwere Akym Uche urged his supporters to spread the news of the New Abia State project to everyone around them so that they can end all the suffering Abians are going through at the moment and bring back the greatness the state is known for from the beginning.
