Obaseki finally nailed, Appeal Committee Upholds Disqualification Decision |SEE REASONS

The Screening Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, upheld the disqualification of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, from the party's primary.

The decision followed a review of a report submitted by the party's screening committee.

Chairman of the appeal panel, Dr. Abubakar Fari, who submitted the committee's report to the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee, also revealed that only one out of the three disqualified aspirants appealed the decision.

"We looked at the grounds on which Obaseki was disqualified and I would like to say his disqualification was based on solid grounds,ÔÇØ Fari said.

1. Presentation of forged voters card to the party and INEC in 2016.

2. Presentation of a degree certificate that is not genuine to the screening committee.

3. Presentation of a sworn Affidavit that was disclaimed by FCT High Court to the party in 2016, which the party later discovered.

4.Presentation of an A/level testimonial with no grades and facts running contrary to the depositions in the nomination form of Obaseki.

5. Preventing the swearing in of 14 out of 24 members elect of the House of Assembly despite the intervention of the president, senate, House of Reps and NWC of APC.

6. Instituting court actions directly and through proxies against the party and officers of the party without exhausting the avenues of redress contained in the Constitution of the party, which is an expellable offense.
