Every individual, family, kindred, clan, hamlet. Village, community and town in Abia state will be very strategic as Ndi Abia go to the polls to elect a chief executive who will superintend our affairs for another 4 years.

In most families in Abia State, you will find at least either a salary earner, a pensioner, an unemployed or under-employed youth, someone whose business is struggling or a fellow who cannot afford to take care of a health problem.
If you are in a position where people call you on phone for one financial assistance or the other, you'll agree that it has presently assumed a frightening dimension.

For some families, you find more than one of these groups of persons. Some families have a parent who is a pensioner, another parent who is a civil servant, the first child who graduated from school a couple of years back without a job, the second child who can no longer continue with his education owing to paucity of funds, a grandparent who can no longer keep up with necessary medications.

In such families, anguish and miseries are regular companions- weeping and gnashing of teeth close neighbours. In time, resort to crime and undignifying duties become the only "way out.ÔÇØ
So many of us know Abians whose businesses have collapsed in the last few years, others are on the verge of collapse due to low patronage, credit purchases and outright theft. These people spend their waking hours wondering what awaits them in the course of the day.

Many of us who live in the state can testify that Abia's infrastructure is horrible- despite claims of billions expended in their renovation. Unemployment is sky-high and employee satisfaction for the state's workforce is the worst in the region.

Many of us have been asking: why are Abia citizens the most impoverished amongst all the oil producing states in Nigeria? Why has Aba become a ghost town? Why are young professionals afraid to live in Abia? Why are businesses moving their machineries and operations to other states?

Do you know that the bulk of the state's revenue from external and internal quarters are shared amongst top officials and chieftains of the ruling party? Do you know that contracts worth billions are awarded to non-existing companies at the behest of the self-styled godfathers of Abia politics?

But most importantly- do you know that you have a chance to reverse the ugly state of affairs in Abia? Yes you can.
