OPINION: Exposing The Fallacies Of Ouk Third Term Senate Ambition

From the standpoint of Logic, fallacy connotes a fundamental flaw or a major weakness in the application of the rules governing Logic. Fallacy represents deformity in the principles or the praxis of logical reasoning. Fallacy denotes failure in reasoning which renders an argument invalid. Whenever any arguments or reasoning is weak, faulty, invalid or invalidated, such arguments or reasoning are rooted or originated in the murky province of fallacy or fallacies. In Logic such arguments or reasoning are commonly known as fallacious arguments or fallacious reasoning. In essence fallacious arguments or reasoning on the surface may appear or sound reasonable. But probing beneath the glittering fallacious surface, exposed invariably are Sphinx-like facades of superficialities and illogical inanities and utterances.

When Logic is turned-up-side down or deviously manipulated, inevitably fallacies or fallacious arguments or reasoning gain ascendance or currency. Fortunately, Logic is not too fragile or infirm to collapse under the weights of fallacies or illogical pronouncements.

The thundering noisy atmospheres in the camps of the strident Advocates and Campaigners of Senate Third Term for OUK and particularly the Public Relations (PR) stunts galvanized to market the Third Term advocacy and campaign are dressed in the garbs of fallacies. Only incurably gullible persons can swallow hook, line and sinker, these propaganda- garnished, manipulative gibberish in the name of Senate Third Term promotional campaigns.

Firstly, consider the ridiculous rankling fallacy: Third Term for OUK is necessary or required to carve or etch the name of Abia North Senatorial Zone in bold PRINTS in the hallowed Chambers of the Senate. The logical response is: Ideally one tenure of 4 year is more than enough for any serious minded Senators or Representatives in the NASS to shine and make indelible marks as Law Makers/Legislators. Besides, a second tenure would ensure and guarantee any diligent second term serving Senator all the time to excel, if such a Senator is well armed and equipped with any blueprints designed to impact positively on the well being of all the nooks and crannies of the Senatorial geopolitical landscapes in his or her jurisdiction.

The cacophony of hues and cries for Senate Third Term for OUK, simply means unabashed admittance of failure or poor performance records and consequently the incessant appeals for another opportunity to get it right in the Third Term or to correct the blunders of the first and second tenures in office as a Senator, under the platform and template of Third Term.

The agitations for Senate Third Term for OUK, basically are more like agitations to prepare OUK for an imminent Resit Examination: Having failed to make his marks or having flunked the same examination in first and second terms, a Third Term attempt is now indisputably required to pass the examinations. Valuable TIME should be properly and profitably invested and not mis-managed in the Senate. Wasting our Valuable TIME and OPPORTUNITY deserves issuing the Red Card to OUK but not any compensation or pampering or any form of gratification or pacification.

Secondly, Consider the spurious and fallacious arguments constructed and peddled on the premise of hierarchy of seniority or ranking based on the number of times a Senator has won elections to the Senate or length of years in the Senate as an automatic criterion to secure leadership or sensitive office in the Senate or the NASS. Ranking based on seniority is not considered in isolation but is only one among the critical credentials or prerequisite qualifications to merit the votes or the confidence of the entire members of the Senate for any consideration for sensitive offices or appointments. Such appointive considerations are by no means lottery tickets reserved exclusively for OUK, contrary to spurious claims of OUK Campaigners.

Undeniably, we have other eminently qualified Senators from the South East geopolitical States and bloc, suitable for sensitive offices in the Senate. Such offices shall at no time be ceded to OUK, without stiff contests, even if such offices are zoned specifically only to Abia State. The pertinent issues of public opinion, pedigree, integrity, reputation, including clean bills from security or anti corruption agencies such as DSS and EFCC are critically important considerations.

Thirdly, the pretentiously presumptuous claims of OUK as the anointed arrow head for securing millions of massive electoral votes in 2027 elections for Tinubu in Abia State or in the South East geopolitical bloc is another grande fallacy.

No amount of electoral abracadabra by the elections management body in Abia North Senatorial Zone in favour of OUK in 2027 can go unnoticed or unchallenged. The era of impunity is gone. In 2027 no loop holes can exist undetected but surely must be neutralized. The malfeasance of the past cannot be allowed to repeat by the alert and vigilant Abia North Senatorial Zone electorate and political stakeholders. Margins for any forms of electoral malfeasance sponsored by any political actors, no matter his or her stature are slim and destined to fail ultimately.

In conclusion: In 2027 fallacies or fallacious arguments, no matter how deceptively or stealthily concocted cannot rescue or reward OUK. The Third Term in the Senate Campaign for OUK shall flounder and shall be shattered by the supreme will and the collective mandate of Abia North voters to deny OUK a Third Term in the Senate.
