The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to appear before a disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities. The committee, led by Chief Tom Ikimi, was established by the party's National Working Committee to address petitions concerning party members' actions.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially summoned Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to appear before its disciplinary committee. The summons comes in response to allegations of anti-party activities.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, the PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, announced on Monday during an interview on Channels Television's "Sunrise Daily" program that Wike had been called to face the Tom Ikimi-led disciplinary committee. The committee was established by the party's National Working Committee to address issues of party disloyalty.

"Three weeks ago, we established two committees: one for reconciliation and another for disciplinary actions,ÔÇØ Abdullahi said. "Nyesom Wike is among those to face the disciplinary committee headed by Chief Tom Ikimi. The committee will review multiple petitions regarding anti-party activities and actions perceived as undermining the party's unity."

Abdullahi criticized Wike's recent statements about causing disruptions in PDP-governed states, calling them "disappointing" and "unacceptable." He emphasized that Wike should exercise caution in his public remarks, reflecting the party's growing concern over his alignment with the current administration.

This development comes just days after Wike openly expressed his satisfaction serving in President Bola Tinubu's administration, despite the criticisms and tension it has created within the PDP ranks. He has also threatened to instigate political unrest in any state where PDP governors oppose his stance or the direction of the party in the South-South region.
