'PDP Has Some Problems But I Can't Be Conferred With Smaller Skin Called ADC' - Sule Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a "smaller skinÔÇØ that does not align with the stature of his political legacy.

The press reports that Lamido made this known while speaking to journalists in Kano on Tuesday.

While addressing the rumours of defecting to the ADC, Lamido emphasised that his political identity remains firmly rooted in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite the party's internal challenges.

He highlighted the significant role the PDP has played in shaping his political career, having entrusted him with key positions like Minister of Foreign Affairs and Governor of Jigawa State.

He also expressed his willingness to support any political alliance, whether within or outside the PDP, that aims to safeguard Nigeria's future ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said, "I believe in Nigeria. So any arrangements, be it within or outside the Peoples Democratic Party, that will secure and save Nigeria, I am ready to work with it in 2027.

"I'm still in PDP, even though PDP has some problems, but I cannot renounce my history. I can't simply walk out of my skin and crawl in flesh and blood and be conferred with a smaller skin called ADC. I cannot.

"So, I cannot simply renounce my history, my legacy and my heritage and say, 'Today I got something new'. I am out of PDP. I will not do that.ÔÇØ
