PDP Leaders Woo Jonathan For 2027 Presidential Race

Party sources confirmed to Vanguard that a delegation of PDP leaders recently met with Jonathan to exert pressure on him to re-enter the race.

According to insiders, Jonathan did not give a definite answer during the meeting but told the party leaders that he was still consulting.

A source stated, "Some PDP leaders met with Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to woo him ahead of the 2027 presidential election, but at the end of the day, the former President said he was still consulting and would get back to them.ÔÇØ

Meanwhile, a presidential aspirant, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has vowed to challenge the PDP's decision to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, insisting that the final say rests with the national convention and not the National Executive Committee.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Olawepo-Hashim stressed that the ultimate authority on zoning rested with the party's national convention, not the National Executive Committee.

All Facts Newspaper understands that the PDP national convention is scheduled to be held in Ibadan, Oyo State, from November 15 to 16.

The former presidential aspirant cited past instances where NEC decisions were overturned by delegates at the convention.
