In a strongly worded clarification, the movement made it clear that it will not support Peter Obi as a vice-presidential candidate to anyone, insisting that its nationwide mobilisation, structures, and grassroots energy are committed exclusively to Obi's emergence as President of Nigeria.

The statement followed widespread reports attributed to the Obidient Movement's National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, suggesting that the group would remain in the ADC even if Obi failed to clinch the party's presidential ticket. The report quickly triggered internal backlash and public confusion.

Responding, Tanko dismissed the claims as "deliberate misrepresentation and malicious propaganda,ÔÇØ stressing that the Obidient Movement's position has not changed.
