The Obidient Movement has firmly shut down speculations surrounding its political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections, revealing that its support within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is strictly tied to Peter Obi's presidential ambition-and nothing short of that.

In a strongly worded clarification, the movement made it clear that it will not support Peter Obi as a vice-presidential candidate to anyone, insisting that its nationwide mobilisation, structures, and grassroots energy are committed exclusively to Obi's emergence as President of Nigeria.

The statement followed widespread reports attributed to the Obidient Movement's National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, suggesting that the group would remain in the ADC even if Obi failed to clinch the party's presidential ticket. The report quickly triggered internal backlash and public confusion.

"Let it be stated clearly and without ambiguity: The Obidient Movement is not mobilised to support Mr Peter Obi as a vice-presidential candidate to anyone. Our support is exclusively for his emergence as President of Nigeria.ÔÇØ

The group emphasised that while it reserves the right to align with any political party, such alignment is conditional on that platform fully backing Obi's presidential bid.
