Stop embarrassing PDP with your conditions - Ibrahim tells Wike

Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Ibrahim, has criticised Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accusing him of embarrassing the party with his repeated interference.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News on Wednesday, Ibrahim said Wike's decision to issue six conditions ahead of the party's forthcoming national convention was outrageous, especially as he is currently serving in an All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

"Why are you coming up with six conditions?ÔÇØ Ibrahim asked.

"You are giving PDP conditions, and the entire country is laughing at us all because of one individual who is on the APC's payroll. Enough is enough. We have to draw the line; he cannot continue like this.ÔÇØ

The PDP spokesman explained that while he once supported Wike's stance against the party's zoning arrangement before the 2023 elections, the minister's actions have now gone beyond genuine concerns.

"I have spoken up for him more than anyone else in this party, justifying his stand against the zoning formula in 2023. I have supported him in many battles. But there comes a time when a responsible person must stop,ÔÇØ Ibrahim said.

According to Ibrahim, the PDP must protect its image and unity by resisting any further attempts at blackmail or distraction.
