The House of Representatives has moved the motion for an automatic employment of 1st class graduates from Nigerian institutions.

Speaking during the Wednesday plenary session, the sponsor of the motion, Hon. Chinedu Emeka Martins, representing Ahiazu Mbaise/ Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, stressed on the need to grant 1st class graduates automatic employment.

Chinedu notes that at the end of every academic year, Nigerian Universities both Government and Private owned, produce hundreds of 1st class graduates, where a greater percentage find it difficult to secure jobs while a lot of opportuned lower grade graduates easily get jobs.

Hon. Chinedu also noted that 1st class graduates who usually have 'Grade A- brain' had put in superlative efforts, resilient hard work, determination and irrepressible stress to achieve great success.

"Granting 1st class graduates automatic employment will be a way of encouraging hard work and give them room to give back to the society or make commensurate input to nation- building" he said

The motion was moved after a unanimous voice vote.
