A group, PDP Advocates for Peace and Justice, PAPaJ, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would return to power with the emergence of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, as the party's National Chairman.

Turaki, a former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, was nominated as the consensus candidate for the national chairmanship of the PDP by the Northern Elders and stakeholders of the party.

The Chairman of PAPaJ, Dr. Tom FredFish while commending the northern elders in a statement on Friday, said the gesture signifies a rebirth of hope and a strategic repositioning of PDP ahead of the 2025 National Elective Convention in Ibadan as well as the 2027 general elections.

He said, "With Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, the PDP is on course for revival, rebranding, and a triumphant return to power. The journey to reclaiming Aso Rock in 2027 begins now, with unity, vision, and purposeful leadership.
