USAID visits Abia Assembly, Seeks better Health Insurance for Abians

Members of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Abuja Operation office, on Thursday 30th January 2020, paid a visit to the Health Committee of the House in their ongoing mission to seek for better Health Insurance for all Abians.

Speaking during the visit, the leader of the group/Manager Budget and Operations in charge of Health, Population and Nutrition Office, Mr. Adeyemi Alade Adebayo explained that there is the need for a better Primary Health Care which can take care of every children and adults in the state.

He stressed the need for Abians, professionals and non professionals, artisans, etc to participate in the Health Insurance Scheme for a better health care delivery.

In their separate speeches, the Chairman of the Committee and Member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon. Stanley Nwabuisi expressed delight in their visit, pointing out that the 7th Abia House Assembly places high premium on the health of its citizens.

Also speaking, a member of the Committee/the Minority Whip, Hon. Mike Ukoha thanked USAID officials on their visit, stressing that with their collaboration, it will help to address the health needs of Abians.

Other members of the Committee who spoke at the occasion, include Hon. Jerry Uzosike, Umuahia South, and Hon. Chijioke Chukwu Bende North.
