The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency, citing severe violence and lack of effective governance. APC Caretaker Committee Chairman Tony Okocha emphasized the urgency during a recent media briefing in Port Harcourt.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the state, citing what they describe as a full-blown war. This urgent appeal was made by APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chief Tony Okocha, during a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

Okocha stated, "Rivers State is at war. The dramatis personae responsible for the mayhem that has claimed lives are known. The governor is helpless, and the police are biased and helpless. Therefore, the APC in Rivers State is calling for a state of emergency as a way of taming the ongoing mayhem and the upsurge of violence in the state.ÔÇØ

He further emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging the Federal Government to act swiftly.
