Why I Will Not Respond to Wike's Insults - Adolphus Wabara Reveals

Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), has strongly responded to recent disparaging remarks made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Wabara accused Wike of dishonoring the principles of respect and maturity expected of a public servant of his status.

The controversy began when Wike, during a media chat in Abuja, said he would have disowned Wabara if the former Senate President were his father. The remarks have since sparked a heated debate within political circles, with many questioning Wike's choice of words and intentions.

In a statement personally signed by Wabara, the PDP stalwart expressed disappointment over Wike's comments, describing them as disgraceful and lacking decorum.

"Frankly, for a son to disown his father, his father must have wronged him terribly. Can Wike please tell the world what it is I did wrong to him?" Wabara questioned, adding that his integrity remains untarnished.

Wabara further criticized Wike's tendency to make baseless accusations, likening his remarks to a "broken water pipe without a tap."

The former Senate President maintained that his track record in public service speaks for itself. "Talking about corruption, Nigerians know those who are corrupt, and I can proudly say and beat my chest that I'm not one of them. I, Adolphus Wabara, am not corrupt!" he stated emphatically.

While Adolphus Wabara made it clear he would not stoop to Wike's level, he stressed the importance of upholding respect, especially for elders, within the political sphere.
