Designer Ohiri O. Lewis, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that his policies are already yielding benefits and are set to bring more dividends soon. Lewis shared his thoughts during an online television program, Focal Point, where he addressed key issues facing the nation and his party.

Speaking on his confidence in Tinubu's leadership, Lewis stated, "We need to have a little patience with the president. Let's not be in a hurry to assess him. A lot of good things are on the way.ÔÇØ He described President Tinubu as a leader with a deep love for humanity and empowerment, qualities he credited for Tinubu's victory in the presidential election.

In December 2024, Lewis hosted APC leaders and members from Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), emphasizing the need for unity within the party. He called on members to remain focused, stating that the APC is poised to deliver greater dividends to its members and the larger community.

Lewis encouraged party members to rally behind the president's vision, underscoring the importance of collective effort in achieving set goals. "Unity is key for us as a party. The benefits of remaining steadfast will be evident soon,ÔÇØ he assured.

While acknowledging the economic challenges Nigerians face, particularly due to the high cost of petrol, Lewis reassured citizens that the president and his team are working tirelessly to alleviate the burden. "The only challenge we have now is the high cost of petrol, but I am confident the government will resolve this issue. Nigerians will smile soon,ÔÇØ he said.

Lewis also highlighted a major economic issue-Nigeria's reliance on imports. He advised that producing essential goods locally would significantly reduce the cost of the dollar and boost the economy. "If I meet the president, I will tell him that Nigeria's main problem is being a consuming country. Once we start producing what we need, the cost of the dollar will crash,ÔÇØ he explained.

The APC chieftain expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing sons and daughters of Abia State to key positions in his administration. He also praised Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for his dedication to ensuring Abians benefit from the federal government's initiatives.
