Why They Want To Pull Down Chris Nkwonta: Ukwa Forum Exposes Desperate Politicians Behind Fake Defection Story

A group known as Ukwa Unity Forum(UUF) has condemned in strong terms purveyors of the rumours that the member representing Ukwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chris Nkwonta is contemplating dumping the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Labour Party (LP).

The group in a statement made available to newsmen Wednesday in Umuahia described the rumour mongers as desperate politicians lacking morals and cannot publicly address Ukwa people with any achievements of their past years in office where they represented Ukwa people.

Hon Nkwonta had also in a recent media statement dismissed the rumours attributing it to the handiwork of mischievous individuals hunted by their political failure and maintained that he remains a member of the APC.

The Statement signed by Chief Macaulay Ekeke and Barr. Obiche Nwaubani, Chairman and Secretary respectively disclosed that they have discovered the sponsors of the rumour peddlers and is monitoring all their activities targeted at demeaning the starling performance of Hon Chris Nkwonta at House of Representatives in order to drum suport for their candidate come 2027.

The recent publication circulated in the social media derogatorily targeted at misinforming the public that Hon. Nkwonta was dumping the APC for the LP is the beginning of their negative media baggage.

The group alleged that " the malicious and wicked plot to smear the image of Hon. Chris Nkwonta was hatched at the residence of a Leader of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Ukwa East Local Government Area where the Sum of N3M was mobilised to a former Editor Of a National Daily to commence the hatchet man's job"

" We are aware of their plans and we have uncovered their evil intentions which is targeted at demeaning the person of Chief Chris Nkwonta. The conspirators from Ukwa Land have gathered like the vultures and scavengers trying to lure their unsuspected preys to the slaughter" they said.

" We want to warn them that they have failed. The media propaganda against Hon. Chris Nkwonta is dead on arrival. Hon. Nkwonta remains our candidate come 2027 and No amount of negative media campaigns can change the tide. He has performed excellently well and undoubtably deserves a second term which we are praying for him to accept" UUF said.

" You can't change a winning team. Those gathering our brothers to challenge Chief Nkwonta are only wasting their energies and resources. They are only be blinded and will end up in futility and regrets. We know the anticidents of those proping them and they can only work in darkness because they have failed Ukwa people and currently seeking for relevance but it is late" they said.

The group stated that never in the present political dispensation had Ukwa land witnessed unprecedented democratic dividends as recorded currently under Chief Nkwonta with effective legislative delivery and tremendous infrastructural and human development just within a period of two years.

We had representatives at both the Red and Green Chambers who spent eight, sixteen and twenty years but there is no legacy on ground today to justify their representation but Hon. Chris Nkwonta within a very short period has changed the narrative and put smiles on the faces of the people. He has restored hope to Ukwa land and should be supported to continue his good works at the Green Chambers.
