You can't sack me, Wike from politics - Fayose to critics

Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has warned critics that they can't sack him and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, from politics.

Fayose spoke during an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday.

He recalled how Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State sought his support in 2023 and he stood by him during his crisis with the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Fayose said, "You can't sack Wike from Rivers politics. You can't sack me from Ekiti politics. Three years ago, Governor Oyebanji, who was contesting at the time, visited me to seek my support, I didn't go to him. He came to me, and that's a line of wisdom from Oyebanji.

"When Governor Oyebanji was having issues in the APC, I stood my ground and went to Asiwaju (President Tinubu) and told him Oyebanji is the man that can win the election."

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain also addressed how Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has been very humble to his godfather and predecessor, Yahaya Bello.

"Look at Kogi, why is Governor Ododo being so humble? Whatever you say about Yahaya Bello, he doesn't want to hear it. He remembers the day Yahaya Bello gave him that platform.

"I told Governor Oyebanji that whatever former governor Fayemi must have done to you, don't speak ill of him. If it was other people, they'd have taken advantage of the situation," he added.
