Abba Yusuf fully in charge, no conflict between us - Kwankwaso

peaking with BBC Hausa, Kwankwaso clarified that there is no conflict between him and the governor.

He said they both share mutual respect and understanding in their political journey.

Kwankwaso explained that long before the 2019 elections, they had agreed that Abba Kabir Yusuf was the best person to lead Kano, and that is why he was given full support to run for governor.

According to the former governor, Governor Yusuf was given complete freedom to perform his duties as he sees fit. He said only political mischief-makers are spreading rumours that he controls the government or handles contracts in the state.

"What I know is that before the 2019 election, we carefully looked at who was most qualified, and we gave him the chance. Now he is doing what is right. Those spreading stories that I run the government or take contracts are only lying," Kwankwaso said.

He added that in their political structure, offering advice to the government only happens when the governor asks for it. He stressed that no one interferes in the day-to-day running of the Kano State government.

Kwankwaso also stated that there is no tension between him and other lawmakers in their party, explaining that their main task is to represent the people and work towards improving lives.

"Our system is based on mutual respect and giving advice when needed. Everyone has their responsibility, and no one is forced to do another's work. We've given everyone the freedom to do their job-how they use that freedom is up to them," he said.

He reaffirmed that their collective goal remains the progress and peace of Kano State, as well as promoting unity and mutual respect among their followers.
