Include Northeast in 2025 supplementary, 2026 budgets - Ndume begs Tinubu

Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume, has urged President Bola Tinubu to initiate Special Priority Projects in the Northeast.

Ndume appealed to Tinubu to include these projects aimed at developing the Northeast in the 2025 supplementary budget and the 2026 budget proposal.

In a statement he signed, the former Senate Minority Leader said such a measure would address the crippling social and infrastructural challenges confronting the Northeast since terrorism has subsided in the region.

Ndume's appeal comes amid the visit of Northeast governors to Tinubu on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

However, Ndume said: "Fifteen years down the line, there hasn't been any meaningful infrastructural development in the Northeast as it has been ravaged by the insurgents.

"In view of this, I suggest that the present administration should give priority to the region and make provision for its urgent infrastructural needs in the 2025 supplementary budget.ÔÇØ
