In what many observers have described as a major political signal ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Follow Better Organisation in Abia North Senatorial District has formally adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.

The development came during the 2026 Annual Conference of the group held in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, hosted at the residence of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Addressing participants, Ohuabunwa commended President Tinubu and Abia State Governor Alex Otti for what he described as a transformative approach to infrastructure delivery at both federal and state levels.

According to him, within three years, there has been a noticeable shift in the pace and quality of infrastructure development, particularly in Abia State.

He urged Governor Otti to remain focused on development despite criticisms from political opponents, stressing that governance requires discipline, continuity, and resilience to sustain growth and public confidence.

Political analysts say the remarks are significant given Ohuabunwa's long-standing influence within opposition politics and his strategic role in the national political landscape.

On national politics, Ohuabunwa emphasized the importance of maintaining regional balance in leadership. He suggested that the southern region should complete its eight-year presidential tenure, while expressing hope that the South East would, in the future, secure greater federal representation.
