Alhaji Danlami Idris Odasko, the chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has disclosed that he has 120 political aides already and still interested in appointing more.

Odasko explained that revenue challenge is what is stopping him from appointing more people.

Explaining the reason behind his action, the local government boss noted that the appointment is a way of providing employment for youths in his community.

He added that engaging them in governance will keep them away from engaging in social vices if left idle and such government revenue will later be spent on repairing what may get damaged from their violent activities.

Odasko noted that if not for financial restrictions, he could increase the number of his political aides to as much as 200 or 300.

"I have 120 political appointees.

"If I have more revenue sources, I will increase their number to 200 or 300.

"The political appointees are mostly youths who want a means of subsistence.

"Neglecting them would not augur well for their immediate community,ÔÇØ he said.

Each of the appointed aides earn between N10,000 and N20,000 on a monthly basis and the local government boss explained that they help in the sensitisation of the masses on government programmes and policies.

Meanwhile, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, representing Dawakin Tofa/Tofa and Rimin Gado Federal Constituency in Kano State, has been reportedly dealt with by some mob in his constituency over failed promises and non-performance.
According to the report, the angry youths descended on the lawmaker on Sunday, October 11 when he visited Gulu, a community under Rimin Gado LGA to inaugurate a project.

It was alleged by the mob that Jobe did not deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituency.

According to an anonymous source who disclosed the incident to newsmen, the lawmaker was beaten to a pulp by the youths, who accused him of making false promises for many years.
