Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called for calm and unity within the party following the recent Abuja High Court ruling that upheld the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure as the national chairman of the Labour Party. Obi, who made the appeal in a statement shared on his X handle, emphasized the importance of maintaining focus on addressing the pressing issues affecting Nigerians.

"Yesterday, Governor Alex C. Otti and I, along with the Caretaker Chairman and Secretary of the Labour Party, convened to discuss and review recent developments, including the judgment delivered by an Abuja High Court," Obi said in his statement.

The judgment comes at a crucial time for the Labour Party, as internal divisions threatened to derail its efforts to build a strong opposition force. Obi reassured party members that the leadership was committed to working through the challenges and emerging stronger.
